Broker’s Comments

The Bavaria 40 Cruiser is one of the most successful family cruisers built by Bavaria Yachts. The model is known for large interior volume, a bright and inviting saloon and an easy to manage sailing plan that suits sailors and families who want comfort at sea. When the Bavaria 40 Cruiser was introduced, yacht reviewers praised the design for its balance between performance, stability and onboard space. It is a yacht that feels safe, predictable and enjoyable in most conditions, while offering the comfort level of a modern living.

The design team created a hull that combines sailing characteristics with excellent volume distribution. The cockpit is wide and welcoming with plenty of seating for the whole family around a large cockpit table. The folding bathing platform works as a perfect playground for the kids, a hidden gem for a morning coffee and a functional spot for unloading groceries from the dinghy. And is a perfect place to enjoy life at anchor.

Below deck, the warm interior was crafted during a period when Bavaria was inspired by the Scandinavian Orust yards, giving the space an air of quality and calm. The characteristic oval hull windows add light and charm to the cabins and saloon.

CROSSROAD is a well-kept example of the Bavaria 40 Cruiser. She is easy to sail with furling mainsail and furling genoa and the bow thruster adds extra confidence in tight harbours. She offers three spacious cabins and two heads, making her ideal for families who want comfort, privacy and generous storage space for longer stays on board.

CROSSROAD has spent most of her life in the Mediterranean with her two Swedish owners and is currently located on the beautiful island of Poros in Greece. Apart from four sailing years in Sweden, the yacht has been kept at a professional full-service yard in Greece, where she is maintained, winter-stored on land, and always delivered in turnkey condition whenever the owners wish to sail.

The next owner could take over the entire concept, including the existing mooring and winter storage. This means that when you arrive in Greece, the boat could be waiting for you—clean, prepared, and ready to cast off. Poros is one of the most charming islands in this part of Greece, with calm waters, picturesque bays, family-friendly tavernas, and easy access to the tranquil Saronic Gulf.

The technical specification of CROSSROAD highlights an extensive list of upgrades, including a new navigation system with a large plotter, modern gimbal-mounted radar, new AIS, and a new inverter. She also features a modern sound system with subwoofer and is equipped with a powerful engine that ensures comfortable cruising even when the wind drops. Additionally, she comes with a new dinghy and a recently serviced outboard, making life at anchor easy and providing convenient access to beaches, tavernas, and local shopping.

During the spring (2026), the owner has carried out extensive service and maintenance through a yard, focusing on both technical systems, reliability and overall condition. The hull has been washed and polished, and new antifouling paint and zinc anodes have been applied.

The engine has received a full service, including a rebuilt exhaust elbow, and both fuel and holding tanks have been cleaned. The heat exchanger has been removed for internal cleaning and reinstalled, and the saildrive oil is checked as part of the service routine.

The electrical system has been upgraded with a new inverter, additional USB outlets, and revised wiring for charging in the cockpit. A new battery base has also been prepared for an upcoming service battery upgrade.

In addition, the steering wheels have been rewrapped in new leather, the forward toilet has been fitted with a new electric pump, winches have been fully serviced, and a new custom teak cockpit table has been built by Stockholm Boat Joinery. Smaller works include removal of VHF equipment, adjustments in the bathroom area, and a general systems check throughout the boat.

Overall, this represents a comprehensive spring refit and service program, enhancing reliability, functionality and onboard condition ahead of the season.

CROSSROAD offers a good opportunity for family or friends looking for a floating summer home in one of the most enjoyable cruising grounds in the Mediterranean. She is in good overall condition relative to similar Mediterranean cruisers of her age, well equipped and truly turnkey ready for anyone who wants to step on board and start their holiday right away.
