Broker’s Comments
This 2005 Doral 250 Monticello is a premium, Canadian-built cruiser that stands out for its superior build quality and intelligent use of space. Doral earned a strong reputation for using high-end materials and robust construction, resulting in a solid, stable feel on the water.
The Monticello’s standout feature is its clever sliding rear bench seat, which glides back to instantly expand the cockpit social area. Combined with a cabin that sleeps four, a well-equipped galley, and a VacuFlush head, she makes an ideal weekender for families looking to overnight aboard or spend a leisurely day on the Solent. For all-weather versatility, the exterior comes equipped with a full camper canopy for summer use and a dedicated winter cover to protect the vessel during the off-season.
Power comes from a MerCruiser 5.0L MPI producing 260hp, with only 573 hours on the clock.
This particular vessel represents an excellent buying opportunity, having already benefited from a number of key maintenance items. In 2025 she received a new clutch, sea water pump, and alternator, and in April 2026 the hull was freshly polished and antifouled.
She is an ideal boat for a young family looking to get away for summer weekends, or for anyone who simply wants to get out on the water in comfort and style. With plenty of space to lounge and relax, she is well suited to day trips across to the Isle of Wight or bay hopping along the UK coastline.
Owner’s Comments
DESERT ROSE has been a wonderful boat to own and has given us many happy days exploring the South Coast and around the Isle of Wight. She is a pleasure to handle, performing confidently in a wide range of conditions, whether cruising with the family on board or when helmed single-handed.
One of the features we have particularly enjoyed is the expandable seating in the cockpit, which creates a much more spacious and sociable area for relaxing or entertaining at anchor. Combined with the extended swim platform, it makes life on board especially practical and enjoyable, offering easy access in and out of the water as well as a very useful space for paddleboards, swimming, or launching and recovering a tender.
She has provided us with a fantastic balance of comfort, usability and performance, making every trip enjoyable, whether for a short-day cruise or a longer weekend away. DESERT ROSE is a boat that feels safe, capable and easy to live with, and she has created many memorable moments for us on the water.
